Aufgrund der je nach US-Bundesstaat unterschiedlichen Gl\u00fcckspiel-Gesetzgebung werden die Geodaten erhoben, um den genauen Standort eines Wettenden zu ermitteln. Auf diese Weise soll sichergestellt werden, dass nur in den Regionen gespielt wird, in denen das Sportwetten-Gesch\u00e4ft legal ausge\u00fcbt werden darf.<\/p>\n<p>Am h\u00f6chsten sei die Zahl der Abfragen GeoComply zufolge im Nordosten der USA gewesen. Allein im Bundesstaat New York seien 15,7 Millionen Pr\u00fcfungen durchgef\u00fchrt worden, gefolgt vom benachbarten Pennsylvania mit 15,3 Millionen Abfragen.<\/p>\n<p>Die hohe Zahl der ermittelten Geodaten sei zugleich ein gutes Zeichen f\u00fcr die erfolgreiche Kanalisierung der Spieler ins legale Sportwetten-Gesch\u00e4ft. In diesem Zusammenhang erkl\u00e4rte GeoComply-CEO Anna Sainsbury: \u201eDie Zunahme der legalen Wetten deutet darauf hin, dass die Amerikaner die Offshore-Sportwetten-Anbieter zugunsten regulierter Angebote in ihren Heimatstaaten aufgeben.\u201c Damit h\u00e4tten Regulierer und Anbieter das Ziel, den illegalen Markt zur\u00fcckzudr\u00e4ngen, erreicht. Zugleich deute das hohe Abfragevolumen darauf hin, dass auch der Staat dank wachsender Steuereinnahmen durch die Buchmacher vom Boom profitieren werde.
